Cupcakes I Can't Bare To Eat
It has been a very long time since I have posted, and although it is not unusual for me to take long breaks, I do feel very guilty that it has been well over a year.
I've done a little Halloween baking and thought it would be a good time to return to the blogashere. I don't have any followers, and not sure anyone ever reads my stuff. But here I am. And here is my first offering for the Fall baking season.
Even though "scary" is what most people go for in their Halloween treats, I just can't seem to eat food that looks like actual body parts, or worms, rats, ect. But I can eat cute "scary".... well, sort of. The little monster cupcakes are so cute, and each one ended up with its own little personality, and the eyes give them a life I can't bare to snuff out by eating them! I even made the "raagh" sound when creating their teeth. It just seems wrong to eat them.
I'm sure that feeling will end as soon as I can get to the store to buy more milk. Eating cupcakes with water, or cola, just doesn't get the job done.
The pumpkins and ghosts were made with almond bark and candy molds. I don't feel anything negative about eating them. In fact, they have sacrificed themselves to spare--or prolong--the lives on the monsters.
The candy eyes are Wilton store bought, and the frosting is Pilsbury Vibrant Green, Bold Purple, Chocolate Fudge, and Vanilla. I used Wilton tip #3 to do the inside of the mouth, #2 for the teeth, and for the fur I used a star tip #15.
Now go. Play with your food.
